Using the included remote (and knobs on the radio), you can tune the sound to essentially whatever you prefer. Although the subwoofer itself has a connector, I wanted to create a harness to disconnect all the signal and power lines from the vehicle. This would be one of the few items we carry that would be next to impossible for us to check fitment. The 22+ base models DO NOT have the amp in the trunk to utilize the various harnesses available to allow easy install to add Amp or Subwoofer, so I was sad to not find much info on how to add an amp/subwoofer without a harness. If you purchased this equipment elsewhere you should be able to contact the manufacture of your LOC for help setting this up as well.

If you get signal from your rear speakers, (this unit allows speaker level input), the remote turn on will detect signal from the speakers and turn on. Not always possible depending on the spare wheel itsell, how it sits on the floor, if the sub has a connector, etc.If you are talking about the rear deck under the rear hatch area it is designed to be locked down in the same manner as a spare tire as it sits inside the spare tire turned upside down. The factory subwoofer option fits in this location, but is of a different (specific) form factor/design. You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. For the auto on, I rewired the source power directly to the power for the sub and let the speaker level inputs turn on the unit.
This is because the system actually puts out some DC voltage when the lights turn on inside from opening a door or getting close with the key. The relocated power hookup is now tucked in at the corner of the console and is neater than what I had before. I'm running an Alpine head unit, Alpine 445 mini-amp, Alpine Type-S component door speakers and Honda OEM headrest speakers on my 2004 S.
I 3D printed a little enclosure for the fuse holder, which I epoxied to the battery cover, which keeps it nicely sealed up and sort of hidden, but also easily removable if I want to get to the battery or anything. Keeping the power and signal cables separate on opposite sides of the car is more work but the right way to do it, avoiding any noise or hum thru the sub woofer. You make no mention of your vehicle and it's system and whether it's factory our modified so I suggest you take this up with Crutchfield tech support.
The Basspro does accept speaker level inputs, your factory harness probably supplies speaker level input and power, so that should convert over easily.I definitely would encourage anyone with an interest to try it out, maybe that'd be a good general post though. I used a puncture tool to make initial pilot hole, then electrical taped Power and Remote wires to a phllips head screwdriver. I just wanted a nice bass filler with nothing too insane and this was just more than what I was expecting as far as sound/build quality. So, the levels on the controller are turned all the way down and the bass on the radio controls is almost all the way down.
