I hope no one gets the wrong idea from reading this, like starting to think what he does is okay and that relationship is okay, it’s REALLY not. However, when I picked up the book this year, the TW did state the noncon was between the two main characters. He goes on and on about how those men should burn in hell for what they've done yet here he is casually and remorselessly stalking and raping a girl in his free time. Way too long and drawn out, yet with a f*ing cliffhanger and dont get me started on the irony of working towards rescuing abused women and children but still abuse the person you want to be with.

That's my take on it, and I've read a lot of books with dubious consent in addition to none at all; compared to those, this one didn't make me feel uncomfortable about consent as those did. One reason was because it was so corny it was funny, and the other was because it was actually interesting seeing how fuckimg lame someone can make sex trafficking.I don't careee if it's just a joke or whatever, pick something else to joke about or find another way to show your appreciation for your friend, but stop treating sapphic relationships like jokes. I don't have very many something goods in my life, and I don't care if it makes me selfish for wanting to hold on to it.

I think the people hyping this book are romanticizing a little too much the whole idea of a stalker who'd kill for his love. by the time Adeline started falling in love with Z, he had already done so much messed up stuff to her while thinking what he was doing, was justifiable, but at the same time, Z was disgusted by, and actively working to thwart pedophile, human traffickers, and rapists. So, on top of complaining about the quality of the smut, I'm also here to complain about the quantity. I just started reading this book and I’m to the point of their first intense encounter and he is literally forcing sex on her… i usually love a good story about a man who’d rip out a spine for love but there’s no excuse for the whole raping thing.Dark romance to be is like the mans a dickhead and does things that make me infuriated blah blah blah then later they fall in love and he's like "i did it because of this reason!

I dnf this book solely because of that, I’m so clueless as to how people were able to stomach this and label it as romance lol.

if you like super dark and kinky stuff thatll make you question your mental well being, this is for you!

I have a genuine question though, not to be rude or anything but what do y'all think dark romance means? I'll have her because she's the first thing that made me feel something good in so long, and I've become obsessed with keeping it. Anyways, the story proceeds with Addie staying at this creepy fucking house for no fucking reason where countless people have died, introduces a whole ass fuckinf ghost, and then promptly forgets that part of the plot. So, it was more playful and fun and even more personal, which made the chemistry much more believable.My heart drops as I tear my eyes away to look around and see his eyes pinned on me from several directions, it’s the most intense feeling I’ve ever experienced. He’s relaxed into his seat, his long legs spread, one hand draped over the wheel and the other resting on the armrest between us. And by that I mean, these women that act like children, that don't have a single logical, mature cell in their body. I'm just so glad to have found this book, it was just what I wanted and was looking for but unable to find until now. It ruins the atmosphere and necessary formality that is vital to the reader taking this book seriously.
